  • #throwbackthursday to the 70s with my aunt and her dog. The picture was made under the Theodor-Heuss-Bridge in Mainz-Kastel. You can see Mainz in the background. I was there last week and tried to made the exact picture again. But because that area changed and bushes grew it wasn’t possible to get the exact angle. My aunt (the sister of my mom) passed away short before her 18th birthday. I never had the chance to meet her because that happened years before I was born. #theodorheussbrücke #mainzkastel #mainz #70s
  • VERY LATE AND MAYBE WEIRD #throwbackthursday Ok, let’s explain. This water hydrant stands in front of my childhood home. I lived there until I was 10years old. As a kid that area felt huge and we often played in and around the triangle. And yes we tried to climb up on the water hydrant, even when it was forbidden. Today (Thursday) I used the time during a short trip to Langen and Egelsbach, to walk through the area where I grew up. So many memories of never ending summers, getting ice cream from the truck and adventures. I also walked by where I had my bad bicycle accident (the reason why my ankle hurts sometimes) and where I waited in the rain for my father to come home. Especially today I thought a lot about my mom. About our trips to Frankfurt and the time in this house. I wanted to call her and tell her what changed and what stayed the same today. But that isn’t possible anymore, because she passed away.   • I rarely posted here in my feed this years. Only some stories and who followed them knows that 2019 wasn’t a great year so far. Here is a little Update: ▪️Lou passed away in December ▪️Simba passed away in January ▪️the same month when Gizmo and Otis moved in (both boys were already older) ▪️in April a medical diagnosis changed the life of a family member ▪️and in June my life changed forever, because I lost this precious person. ▪️2 days after that Otis passed away very suddenly (one day before my birthday) ▪️and in July Gizmo passed away because of a tumour. ▪️during all that time I had to travel a lot to Mainz and it’s not over. There is still a lot to do. And here we are. A lot more things happened and I knew that I needed a blogging break, but then I started again. Too early. I’m not ready to write blogposts.
